Auction 136: WE Dark Blue 302 "Antique phone" - Ended 10/04/14

Listed just about a day ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve is this very interesting item by an eBay seller with no feedback. It's a 302 with a clear soft center finger wheel and, in the one an only dark and grainy photo provided by the seller, seems to be dark blue in color. The phone was listed at $1.00 and is currently sitting at $51.00 with 3 bids. Comments and discussion of this item are always invited. So, once again, who knows best what this phone "might be" or really is and what it actually sell for when the bidding ends?

The seller listed it as an "Antique phone" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " with the auction listing description as simply a "Cute collectable." Indeed, it may be, if not painted. Could this be a -18 dark blue and if so, what's its condition?

I fully realize this is a "pig in a poke" auction given the lack of any seller information or photos. This could be a black shell or a cracked dark blue or a near NOS mint condition 302. If the seller responds to Fabius' request for more info and pictures, keep in mind that everyone is allow to change their guess once as long as they do so 24 hours or more away from the end of the auction.

Given all the variables in what this could be, it just screamed out to be an auction contest. Could be a $30 phone, could be more? Time, and more information, will tell.

Seller added pictures to the listing - I've added most of them to the top post.

Still can't tell the color for sure - black or -18 dark blue? No corner cracks, it seems. Clear plungers? Cords look to be in very good shape. No bottom photo. No internal photos. So, what is it?

As TelePlay said this is a "pig in a poke" auction. The seller did respond to my request for more pictures which like the first are not that great. But the seller did not respond to my questions of what color was the phone and was it painted. Also I requested pictures of the inside and the bottom, no reply.

Keep in mind that if you win this phone and receive a black or spray painted blue 302 with a later #5 dial and you paid megabucks you may be out of luck getting your money back under eBay's Buyer Protection program. The seller never said it was a blue 302.
