I don't think I have posted this before. It is a 1939 article on plastics in telephone use from an issue of the Bell System Technical Journal. I believe you will find it interesting. On page 498 there is some discussion on using synthetic enamel to coat H mounts, et al. Coating old metallic phone was a recent thread topic.
