Magnavox telephone?

Guys, a friend snapped these pics at the Henry Ford Museum. Anyone know what kind of phone this is? A ship phone maybe. The early attempt at a headset is obvious.

Most Magnavox phones were marketed as "Anti-Noise" telephones and are found with the more symmetric handset, as shown in the documentation page below and the B1 and B2 phones.  They were used in any noisy environment, including ships, airports, aircraft carriers, factories, etc.  Some, like the Coryphone were cast brass -- obviously targeted for shipboard use.

The handset on the phone in your photos seems to be related to the handset used on the Magnavox Electrodynamic Phone (last photo).
