Reminds me of how I use a printer switch cable for 7000 series boards.

Years ago, I got female 11 pin connectors at a electronics source, then got several male connectors, from Paul Vaverchack and some wire, opened the shells of western payphones, made several cables just like western had at one point, sold them in the ATCA for about $10.00.
Because I got the parts cheap. But those are expensive compared to what I paid for my parts.

Those are re-visited tube sockets. and tube bases with covers.
used a lot in early radio/phono stuff.
I guess, cause the parts were already there, so???
seems like a nice compact solution.
but a bear to unplug.some, anyway.
