It must have been the fake leather strip on the bottom. Or maybe the missing terminal strip in the base. I'm sure the burgered up and modernized ringer box added quite a bit to the price also. But the drilled out transmitter cup probably put it over the top!
It wasn't even a leather strip. It was a cloth cord wrapped around. The perch looked like it was probably a lamp at some point too. It even had plastic wires on the inside.

Guess that would apply equally as a lamp or as a phone.

Looks like a lot of bids was one person trying to expose someones max....Probably the seller using a different account or a "buddy"...Might have gotten some fake hype on the phone causing a lot of fake attention....Maybe.
