Anyone Know This Phone???

Mr. Vern Potter asked me if I would post this photo, along with his information in hopes that someone out there may know the identity of this telephone.  Here is what Vern wrote:

Japanese telephone.  I DO NOT own this.

I have been asked for help with  this telephone.   The telephone was
found hear in SLC, UT at a yard sale. It was made in Japan, has Japanese
writing on the bottom label.  But that is all that is known about it.
The owner has been looking for info on this, but has not been able to
find any thing.

Sorry I only have the one photo, and I have not see the telephone my
self.  So I don't have any more info about it.

At this time the owner is not selling it, but has asked for my help in
finding info on it.
Any one know any thing about this telephone

The info will be shared with the owner.

This is a 70s phone of poor quality. Its more a novelty phone than a real phone, of course; this is just my opinion....Doug

I was thinking more or less along those lines also. Dennis, ask the owner to put it in a tub full with water to see if it floats.
