Yes, they really should have put on a proper handset cord and aligned the fingerwheel before starting the auction.

Then there's the bottle opener.  It reminds me of the days when openers were mounted everywhere -- like in motels on the bathroom door frame or counter so people wouldn't damage the room by trying to open bottles on the sink fixtures or door hardware.  It's surprising they didn't also add an ashtray to keep folks from using the coin return.

Seems to have "normal value," well, a bit lower than normal "normal value" to at least 3 people, the bidders that is. Or is it the value of the Coke bottle opener that is driving the price in the auction?  ::)

The winning bid was $158.49.  Just think how much more it would've bought if the dial were aligned and the proper handset cord had been installed!

Hey, at least the Co'Cola bottle opener is a nice touch!

Remove the opener and throw a information card on it. Nobody will ever know.

The good thing is that they didn't send it to the dump.  This way, the money the phone brought went to the Salvation Army.  It also could've been some sort of tax thing.  If they watched the auction, they now know how much they donated to the Salvation Army.
