Well, my Fleabay phone arrived. A fifteen dollar offer the seller accepted.
Base is 8/52, ringer is 9/52, network is a 425B with the paper tag still attached.
Dial is 2/55, G1 handset, receiver components range from 57 to 63.
Case is dated 64.

The base is rust free, the feet are in very good condition.
So, I'm going to try to find a 52 dial and case closer in date.

Photos probably this weekend if I can figure out how to post them.

Is the ringer a C2A or a C4A?

Is there a easy way to tell the difference?
The 9/52 is all I saw on it.

Will be interesting to see that paper tag on the network.

Shovelhead, I posted a photo of one here earlier today:

Generally the ringer coil has a khaki colored covering rather than the clear cellophane type covering you see on later ringers.

Khaki tape on the ringer's coil.
Kind of strange the the ringer was dated 9/52 while the base is 8/52.
Probably coincidence that a later ringer dated that close was later fitted during a rebuild.

Well, I don't think I did too bad with it, but it would have been nice if it was more original.

It's quite common to have dates from one month to the next.  Your base is dated August, which may have been the end of August when it was made/stamped.  It may have not gone down the assembly line until September at which time the ringer was added.  I've seen some from Dec of one year with parts from Jan of the next...still original.
