I thought a ship named TELEPHONE would be a cable laying ship or such. This ship was owned by the Western Pacific railroad. There is no exact date given for when the photo was taken. The Washington State Archives website states 1903- 1913

When I first read the title, I thought, NO WAY. A cordless telephone in 1903 ? Wireless morse code, but I think ship to shore telephone came later, 1922 I think.
