Touchtone Princess does not work

My touchtone Princess doesn't work. It has dial tone, but when you go to press a # it cuts out. Doesn't hang up, just quits. Let off of the number and the dial tone comes back.

Reverse the line-in(wall to telephone) RED & GREEN circuits.

Is that still the rememdy if other TT's work on the same line?

The earliest TT phones were polarity sensitive, so this is often a solution for older TT phones which do not work.

TT phones were set up to work with polarity opposite the then typical wiring standards. Thus, by reversing the polarity to a house, it was possible to turn TT on and off to a house.

BDM is right , switch the red and green on the phone . It will work I did this for mine.
