Non-dial Candlestick Mini Network

I am considering using a 20AL or 40AL with a 323 transmitter as an extension phone.  There would be no dial out capability and I do not have a place for a subset.  I remember articles about using mini networks on candlesticks but I can only find them for dial type candlesticks.  The functions I would like are listen, speak and possibly ring (electronic ring is fine).

Would a mini network work for this application?
Does a mini network have an electronic ringer?
Anyone remember where the articles are located?

Thanks

The AE mini-network will work with or without a dial, but there is no ringer.
