Thanks; I couldn't see the wiring in the ringer box well enough to figure that out, but seeing three wires connected to the plug, it was pretty likely that the ringer was connected to Y in the plug, equivalent to G in the ringer box. 

Re. those cords: the base cord looks like a goner (salvageable for the spade terminals and the strain reliefs) but the receiver cord looks good enough to keep in the spare parts bin as it is.
