That may be true. However, the seller probably left the dirt on because he liked the patina.
I never knew dirt was "patina." I wish I had as my grandson got into my mulch pile today playing with his trucks while helping Grampy in the back yard. He had a nice "patina" all over him. My son was not at all pleased with his "patina" when he picked him up. Bad Grampy! ....Doug
