A former Phone Phreak who was also an electronics wizard built me this "little black phone box" and drew a schematic in case he wasn't around any more.  This was a good thing since he's long since passed on!
This little gem has been in operation since about 1997, and still works perfectly even with digital fiber-optic telephone lines!

SCHEMATIC FOR CONNECTING TWO RESIDENTIAL PHONE LINES TOGETHER CREATING A 5-WAY PHONE SYSTEM IF YOU HAVE 3-WAY CALLING ON BOTH PHONE LINES.  COURTESY OF MR. SPOCK, USER 4, PANTHER'S PLACE BBS. 651-XXX-XXXX.

Thank you for sharing this.
The diagram turned out to look strange, of course this it the result of modern auto formatting.
(looks actually better in the "quote box" than in the original posting)

For us in the trailing edge of not only telecom  :D this way of making pictures are known.
I guess the picture under is how it originally looked. Under, I have sketched how I read it.

I f you could make manual how to use it it would be perfect.

And I forgot: Welcome to the forum.

I noticed after posting the ASCII diagram that some things weren't lined up.  I corrected them as best I could with an edit.  You probably read the post before I made the corrections, then when you quoted my post the corrections had taken place.

Anyway, if you look at the box, you will notice one switch is always set to OFF, and one is always set to ON.  If you wish to add your second line, simply reverse the switches so the OFF one is turned ON, and the On one is turned OFF.  You can then simply use your touch tones to dial out on the other phone line and the two lines will be connected together!  If you have 3-way calling, you can use the push-button the same way you would click your on-hook mechanism to access 3-way, or call-waiting.  If you are lucky enough to be able to receive call-waiting calls while in a 3-way conference call (this depends on your telephone switch office) you will be able to answer your call-waiting caller using the push button also.  Be aware though, that the second party you've connected in on the other phone line will also come with you when you answer your waiting caller on the other line.  This in fact, will leave two of your callers talking to each other on your first line, while you and whomever you connected with your second line will be conversing with your call-waiting caller.  It's really cool because no one gets bored.  :)

This little setup is also excellent for making Prank Phone Calls.  However, I'm a little too old now to get into that sort of game.
