152AB Candlestick Hook Problem

I just purchased on Ebay a 152AB candlestick which appears to have a hook/hookswitch issue.

Please look at the attached photo.  The mechanical hook is too short to make contact with the hookswitch.

Is the hook missing a piece?  Is it the wrong hook for this hookswitch?  Or is the hook damaged?

Thanks all!

That is a hook for a wall phone.  152AB would have a hook designed to hold a headset (earphones)

Well that explains a lot.

While I understand that it would be more appropriate to restore this to a candlestick with a headset hook, is it also possible to restore this to a candlestick with a regular receiver?

If so, what would have to be changed aside from the hook itself?

You can use a hook from a 20-AL, 51-AL, 151-AL, etc. A Western Electric 143, 144 or 706A receiver from a desk or wall phone can then be connected.  The wiring for the 152-AB is the same as for a 151-AL.

If you find a candlestick hook make sure it is insulated, it should have a little round black plug where it would hit the switch.

Thank you for the heads-up.
