TCI article about Western Union Point-To-Point service.

I just read the latest Singing Wires.  The lead article was interesting in that I have a 302 the may have been part of that Western Union service referred to in the article.  I have my doubts though because the PTP service started in 1965, well into the era of 500s, plus the fact that the PTP lines went to other business people, and the dial card says it was a direct line to WU.  Since the article is copyrighted, I can't post it here, but if you're a TCI member, you can read the article.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.

I have seen those at shows. "Telephone your Telegram here". 

have a Gray paystation w/ F handset. It  was a direct line to WU.
The original intent of the paystation style was so you could deposit the fee for the telegram.
Mine is a counter top set-up. It would of been used in a "manned" location.
The vault drawer was removed and blanked off.
You would phone in you telegram, give the handset to the store clerk who would verify the total and collect the fee.

The lead chutes are like new
