According to that diagram, your wiring is incorrect, what you should try is

Red: L1
Black: K (little mounting strip)

Ben is talking about moving the red ringer wire from GND  to L1. Or you can leave the wiring inside the phone as is and just connect the green and yellow conductors of the line cord to the same screw at the wall.

I had been looking at the wiring diagram for a while and couldn't figure out what color the wires were supposed to be. Haha

Also, posting from my phone is I apologize for the short posts and lack of info!  Now to get this cleaned up nice!
