Pulse has to be closed at rest. There are photos on the site somewhere that show how to position the cam

If th pule contacts are resting in open pos. you should not get a dial tone at all.

You said it first, my friend...Dial problem.
Off to Steve for repair.
When I initially tested the dial, I thot it was working correctly.
Did not notice the odd action.
This allowed me to work through each wire in this thing.
I understand it more now. Not sure if thats a good thing???
You Guys have been great! much thanks.
More to come

Update on the schematic.
Added a nice second angle pic.
Interestingly, I have found 2 versions of the Coin Relay connections.
So, I guess, the chase is still on ;)

Those are great schematics for the future payphone collector who has problems or questions.
Thanks for making those available to everyone.

Update:
Had a Ah Hah moment tonite!!
Got the dial back from Steve. Thank you. installed it, and ran through everything ...again...
and found that when I removed all unnecessary wires, It left the "NO" contacts on the dial, the ONLY path to complete the circuit.
..."The normally open contacts", right after the pulse contacts!.
No wonder the dial was acting weird.
So, I reinstalled the white jumper between "R" on the dial strip, and ""E" on the small block.
And, Viola! Dial Tone!!!, dials out, and talks! Ringer is out of circuit, as it is acting weird.
I believe I missed a fact in the wiring...My bad.
The ORANGE circled wire was removed when the white wire was removed.
The RED circled wire is the one that restored it to working condition.
Now, the next thing, is the coin entry.
I am having a wonderful time with the SLUG REJECTOR alignment with the coin chute.
It has 2 small bolts holding it together, and I had trouble tightening it up.
It does not allow dimes to enter chute, unless I tilt the phone BACK a bit.
Is there a guide to correct alignment of those parts?
This is Soooo close to being done!
I WANT TO HEAR THOSE CHIMES!!!!!!!!

Well, I got the payphone talking.
The The racket maker, or Ringer, as they refer to it as, works.
And, I made a wedge for the dime chute, and all slots work now.
I discovered, there is a tab stickin out from the hook switch, that prevents a quarter from falling into the phone, until the Rec is lifted.
The dime, and nickle slots don't do that??? ???
I noticed there are 4 holes in the front of the phone. one has a screw in it.
I remember, there was sometimes a chrome square with a plastic sheet covering some numbers, or instructions on the front of these phones.
Does anyone have one of these card holders for sale?
Don't need perfect, just wanna cover the holes.
And, whats the story with the two locks that hold down the front cover?
Don't remember 2 locks???
This has been a fun, although butt kickin project.
Grew a few more brain wrinkles on this one!
