Listing Description:  "Western Electric AA1 Non Dialer Early Desk Telephone with E1 Handset 1927 - bullet transmitter -- This is a Western Electric AA1 desk telephone. --  This telephone was the first handset telephone that was made by Western Electric. -- It was developed and used in the 1920's, this one does NOT have a dial. On the front of the stem it says WESTERN ELECTRIC MADE IN USA PATENTS APPLD FOR IN USA. On the back of the stem it has the number D76869. The E1 handset has 9 lines of patent information on it. Original number card and cloth cording with spade tips and felting on the bottom of the base. There are no chips or hairline cracks in the telephone. Measures apx. 5.5" T X 5.1/4" dia. at base"
