Seeking WE "T500" information

I had a fantastic telephone conversation with Phone Phreak Evan Doorbell today.

He asked if I could find any sort if information on the set he grew up with. He described it as a black, metal dial 500 set with a bakelite handset, and the network of a 300 series phone. Says it looked identical to a 500, but if you removed the transmitter capsule, it would go off hook. He recalled the model being T500.

Anybody know anything about it? The description made me think of the 5302...

It certainly sounds like a 5302 to me.

the 500T set used the earlier 425? potted network but the ext equalizor was not installed so the handset wired to a seperate terminal block I have 2 in my collection Dates are 51 or 52.The dial is different with one difference is a long coiled spring in the governer.Universal fingerwheel or possible repunched #5
