New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Just listed in a 10 day auction with no reserve is what appears to be an Old Rose 302 with original straight handset and line cords, unpainted handset and no corner cracks, but, with potential issues inside (two ringer rivets missing and no internal photographs posted - EDIT: but maybe not based on information provided by poplar1 below). It was listed high at $275 plus $15.00 for shipping but there may be room for the price to move up, for the plastics alone, maybe. So, once again, the question is who best knows what this phone will sell for when the auction ends?

The seller listed it as an "ANTIQUE WESTERN ELECTRIC BELL TELEPHONE F1 SALMON COLOR ROTARY TELEPHONE" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " with the auction listing description simply as "This is a Bell System made for Western Electric rotary telephone. The base measures 7.5x7.5 inches, the height is 5 inches.  It is marked F1 on the hand piece. It is in good condition with no damage.  It is in a Salmon color."

NOTE: we will use a 3% gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, guess gaps of 6+% can be split. I'll help with these as the auction goes forward and guesses are entered.

It's another chance to move up a rung or to get onto the CRPF -> Contest Standings <- list,

. . . for as twocvbloke said,   ---> "You gotta be in it to win it !!!" ;D "

Mine also has an odd ringer mount if I recall, I'll check it when I get home.  I paid $200 for mine.  I'll say $275.

By June, 1952 (perhaps sooner), the ringer mount for 302s was changed to a new style, and the ringer was held in place by two screws.

Well, if it sells, it's going to be with a feeding fest of snipes when the auction ends in about 18 hours as of this post. Still no bids.

I think the seller started this too high. A lower start price would have shown the interest. Only the seller knows how many are watching but even he has no clue of who or how many will bid at the end. Interesting auction and a nail biter contest - will it sell, or not?

And, the winner of Auction Contest #155, by $1.39, is kleinkaliber, who with the 5th entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $325.00.  That guess gave him his 4th win in our auction contests. Once again, our congratulations go out to kleinkaliber for winning this Auction Contest and moving up a rung in the Contest Standings.

This old rose 302 had absolutely no bids over the 10 day action. It had no bids with 10 seconds to left. In the last 3 seconds, it received 2 bids from 2 bidders and when the dust settled, j***j ( 316 ) took the phone home for $313.88. What more can I say, other than I was right in my last post here, it would be a last second snipe if the phone would sell at all.

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.
