anyone ever see this? I havent, but then again I have not seen the new taco bell doritos taco either.  I just bought another collection and this came with it.

On the inside is a subset box, looks like a 685 subet on the outside is a dial.

Maybe its was a technician testing tool?  Maybe someone made a frankenphone?

It's always interesting to see items like this.

Side, back and interior views might help us identify it.

How is the dial held on?  It looks like it's off-center.  Was that needed to avoid components inside?

I have no idea, this pic was sent to me, its part of a collection I just bought.  I will have another 40 phones mid next week that one was part of it.

OK I'll take a guess - it's a desk top remote dial for a switchboard or something, hence the elevated dial?

A bit like this for an autodialler control dial?

"now this should take five minutes, where's me screwdriver went now..?"

For what it's worth, the finger stop is the type that was used on switchboard dials.

How do you keep finding these collections?  The only collections I find for sale are the type on craigslist consisting of a WE 500 and five or six worthless phones which the seller insists are worth hundreds.

The case that that dial is in has a subset in it and ringer..  Its still odd.
