Did anyone else watch this auction?  These receivers usually only sell for about $150 unless they are really nice - but not where near the selling price of this one.  $1,183 for this not so rare receiver.  Anyone know who the buyer is?

I watched it too and was surprised at the price.  I believe its a Holtzer-Cabot OST receiver with a Connecticut cap.  I don't know if that was common practice for Connecticut to do that back in the day or if someone swapped the cap out with one that fit.  I have two of these and both are unmarked.

I've seen a couple of these Holtzer Cabots with the connecticut cap.  I don't think I've seen an OST Connecticut that was any different.

There were two bidders on that $1183 receiver - my guess is this Seller is going after the loser of the other auction.
