I have a WE-500 that I'm almost ready to plug in.
I've hooked up a modern wall plug, and the network
unit inside the phone, is clearly marked as to where
the Red, Green, And Black, but nothing indicates
where the Yellow wire goes? Help !!!!!

Green goes to L1 and red goes to L2.

For normal, single-line service, these are the only two wires that need to be connected.

Normally, yellow gets connected to G, which is the raised terminal between L1 and L2. In a tip-to-ground ringing setup, yellow would be connected to earth ground, thus allowing the ringer to work. Since pretty much all modern installations are tip-to-ring, however, this is pointless. So, I often don't even bother to hook up the yellow wire.

Often, the original cords I've seen either didn't have a black wire, or else clipped it off and/or taped over the end of it inside of the phone. I'd suggest doing the same in yours-the black wire normally does nothing, and could cause problems if the telephone is ever used on a two line system.

One other thing-you may notice a black wire from the ringer connected to terminal G on the network block. If this is the case, the phone won't ring-you'll need to move the black wire from G to L2.
