Picked this up on Craig's List for $40.  It is an early pay station dialing instruction sign made of tin steel.  7.25" x 12.75".  I thought it was a local item due to the South Boston reference but the seller said he picked it up in Oklahoma!!!

I think there is a topic about this sign. I think there are 2 examples in the topic.

I am glad you found the topic, I couldn't.
I would say it is a Find of the month.

The instructions say to "dial the first three letters of the office name."

The only places in the US that had 3L-4N directory numbers were Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

Thanks.  So it counts as a "New England" sign, most likely.
