This is my small collection of old phones, from left to right in the picture below:

1980 Northern Telecom Dawn. Bought on a whim, mainly because of its distinctive design and being featured on "Sonny With A Chance". Maybe I should paint it red to look just like that one?

1970 Stromberg Carlson 500D. My first rotary phone, I bought it maybe fifteen years ago at a local flea market for $4. I had always wanted a 500 (though I didn't yet know it by that name) since my grandmother moved out of her house where she had always had a black WE 500. I'd always found a rotary dial charming.

1946/1960 Western Electric 5302G. My most recent and favorite phone, I just brought this one home from an indoor flea market in Omaha for $10. All it needed was dusting and the ringer reconnected. Amazing. According to its number cards, this phone had been previously used in Birmingham, Alabama.

I also have a 2001 Cortelco 2500 and a 1981? WE Exeter (that I've misplaced the handset to), but I don't really consider them part of the collection. I gave the 2500 to my grandmother-in-law and I'm selling the Exeter as soon as the handset turns up.

A solid start, deedubya!  Thanks for posting your photo. :)

And for those of you who haven't posted a photo of your phones yet... what are you waiting for?  Small or large collections, one phone or a hundred, let's see some phones!

Very nice family photo.  But what's this about retiring?  There's no such thing in telephone collecting! 8)

Because of my recent acquisitions, I'm currently under a self-imposed ban from all yard sales, antique malls, flea markets, &c.  :-\

Never fear, though: I may lift the ban once I get rich and have unlimited space in my house. ;)
