Put togather from parts by Chicago old telephone. Cradle from ATEA Belgium .AE dial and handset. Repro WE base. Handset is painted. I might have built that set.

If it's anything like my Chicago Telephone I bought recently, It's a great phone! Beautiful and functional. If you can get it at a good price, I say go for it! I love mine...

Are Chicago Telephone / PhoneCo one and the same?

I think this one isn't as nice as yours Pourme. I don't know if the price is good, poss not - the seller has it up for bids, start bid is £37 ish (plus postage) but the second photo put up shows damage to the plunger.

I paid $75.00 and bought the cords.
Plunger damage?...Those parts may be hard to find.
If I saw that on a table, for that amount, I'd pick it up. When you add shipping sometime the bargain is diminished.

Phoneco and  COT are not related . We both bought parts from Turtle lake to build similar sets.The plunger should be obtainable from Phoneco (still in business?) or Oldphone works.You might be able to fix it with JB weld and some paint.

I think we are all aware that this is a reproduction phone made with some real parts......and some fabricated parts.  This was never an actual phone.....it was a Phoneco creation and as Robbie has stated COT made then as well.....buyer beware....Doug

The  COT sets will not have an AE dial with the fingerstop held on with one philips screw and possibly a plastic fingerwheel painted black. Almost all COT sets have the same AE number card with a flaw in the design at the 11 oclock position.COT used mostly type 41 handsets also.
