I found out a fellow employee's father had worked for SNET for 55+ years.   She sent me photos of a couple phones I believe may have some value.  Can anyone provide information on the giant long distance phone?  Any value? Here is the link to the almost exact same phone http://www.wcast.info/vtm/bell_room.htm

"the green one is 1952
the black is 1948

I had forgotten that I swapped out the fabric curly cord on the green one along with the straight cord. both are rose fabric covered wires

neither phone has any branding on it anywhere"

"Nice ....
The green one (except for having the cords swapped out for rose!) is in perfect condition .... it's also my favorite one .... I couldn't sell it. But good to know!!

I've really got to refurb the old long distance phone and display that one ... it's beautiful This is what it should look like instead of the separate pieces it's in now http://www.wcast.info/vtm/bell_room.htm"

"Parts? Really?  darn ..... no I never kept anything I replaced .... :( It was my grandfather who worked for SNET ... started at age 14 - so 1923 and retired sometime in the late 70's When people started getting the ability to choose their own home phone numbers he chose Beverly 51233 and made it a party line with 3 neighbors ... eventually it became his own singular line.  Then when the words were replaced with numbers, Beverly became 23 ....
After my grandmother died in 2007 my mother took over the number to her cell phone!!"

Do an internet search for cabinet or vanity telephones.  They are quite collectible and should fetch a great price if cleaned and assembled.  It's definitely worth preserving.
