After the show, we went across the street to a restaurant for lunch, and we spotted a British phone booth.

I see all the evidence I need in the background of your picture Briny. The "ant & Cas".... is the "Elephant & Castle". We had them hear in Greater Vancouver (not sure if there are any left here now though) and they always had a GPO booth out front.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas All!  I hope you all had a lovely, blessed Christmas.  Was nice to get back on here and read through everyone's greetings and well-wishes and humorous pictures. :)

This Stromberg-Carlson 1543 (wall version) was under the tree for me.  Apparently the word is out among the family, my brother-in-law had me for the gift exchange this year and I was quite surprised to get this.  I believe there must have been some colluding between him and my husband because this phone is a mess!  I could just hear him wrapping saying, "this outta keep her busy for awhile!"  Stamped on base: "1543G  50-"  I'm guessing 1950?  Anyway, its my first SC.  :-*

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year fellow Phone Lovers!  -Melanie

NOTE: The discussion of this phone has been split out of here and into it's own, separate topic which can be found at:

Further discussion of that phone should take place there.

Dave is always gracious enough to play Father Christmas...even in August when I left there with a couple of gems and my son with an insulator.

Continued good health to you Dave.

Happy new Year
Cheers........Bill

Hard to believe it is only two weeks away! Jeffery sent us this photo of Grand-cat, Misty, a pretty little Bengal a couple of weeks ago, and I have decided what better photo could there be for the Holiday Season! Misty and Jeffery and Crystal will be here for three weeks soon! Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season from all of us! Santa Claws!

My Christmas break starts 10 minutes from now, and I will finally be in the Christmas spirit! At this point I don't care that we probably aren't getting snow in time, but there's more to the day than snow!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Very cool train, Terry.  Thanks for posting that.

56 degrees (f) here in the Detroit area today.  It's not beginning to look like Christmas.

56 degrees here as well, Dennis, and also raining. I was hoping for snow, or at least a cold front, but neither one is here. :'(

We have had some oddly specific snowfall in our neighborhood today.
