I think newbies are bidding up the round base. They think it is the D# A mount (value wise).

It seems that the notchless dial plate added about $450 to it.

What mount is it?  It's not the regular B mount as the shaft appears taller.  (I don't know the correct terminology for the shaft).  The screw holes in the bottom are not where they are on my B mount.

I looked closer. It appears to be the A mount. I guess the newbies spotted it right.
I have been told that these "sawed-off" candlesticks exsit in a few variations and typically go higher than the should. The A-mounts w/ d# can sell for $1,500-2K
They are from around 1925 . per  Larry Wolff "desk Telephones of the bell system"

These A1's normally go for around $1,000, even with no dial.
