Cant get back plate off of Northern Telecom Wallphone

I picked this Northern Telecom wallphone up at a yard sale and cannot get the plastic wallplate off of the back of the phone.
I know im getting up there but this has got me stumped!
If any one has had this issue I would appreciate some advice...I can see that there are screws from inside the phone going through the metal back plate but cannot get the phone off to do it. (see pics)

First take the cover off the phone which is released with the little metal tab in the same hole as the handset cord.  There should be screws holding the plastic back plate to the back plate of the phone.
