Has anyone seen one of these testers? Or know anything about them? It's a Telephone network simulator -- TAS Model 182. It's for sale in San Jose on Craigslist.

It's a line tester, seen similar, that one is nice 'modern' looking.

*I look at them, but I'm asked 'when would you use it'? Me, never.
...but it would look good on the workbench shelf.
;)  :)

The seller also has a Caller ID production tester.

It's only five weeks of fancy coffees to pay for it, and could give years of pleasure :-)

There are some other cool telephone stuff listed there. A Sage tester which IIRC there was a discussion here about and your very own emergency communications trailer complete with generator & satellite dish!
