Hi,

Does anyone know of any repair/parts folks in the SF Bay Area?

Thanks!

originally being from that part of the country, I'd say "yes", and "no". check the electronic surplus places in the SJ area, other then that.. the only place you might find parts is the JKL Museum, providing they have anything they want to get rid of.... the only souces I have are phoneco, inc. (www.phonecoinc.com) and the oldphoneworks in canada. (www.oldphoneworks.com). the only other places to check would be online.... do a general search- surplus telephone equipment- thats the only way to find anything... good luck!    John

That's what I kind f figured, but you never know. I was hoping there would be some old guy or gal in their cluttered up garage sitting on a pile of goodies that are up for sale, but only if you can find them.

I never thought about looking around electronic surplus shops, so thanks for that tip.

When it comes to collecting/restoring old phones and old bikes, the Bay Area doesn't seems as resplendent in resources and bargains as other areas of the country.  :'(

Doug, I wish that I was as young as you. You were probably still in diapers when that song came out.  :D I remember getting that album for Xmas when I was 12 (You do the math). The thing is I didn't even ask for it but it was good start to finish. There's a real good version of Tobacco Road on it. Here's a cleaner version of the other song. < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai0EgZexxk0 > Here is Tobacco Road.
