AE 40 cases question.

Is there a difference in AE 40 bakelite cases as far their delicacy?
I had one totally break for me at the mounting screws. I was wondering if it had to do with the metal dial mount frame (older style)?) Or ith the way I took the phone apart.

It was probably cracked by the time you took it apart. They are pretty robust. It takes a sharp blow to break them; like if not packaged properly during shipping.
