I have a Starlite phone dated 1961.  It is missing the center holes on the transmitter and receiver caps.  Also has an auxiliary ringer box and plug for the dial light.  Does anyone know when they added the center holes on the receiver and transmitter caps?

Don't know.  However, I do have an AE80 dated 1964 that has the center holes.  (1962 0r 1963?)

Interesting.  My only AE without center holes in the caps is an old style AE80 with a potted network and manually compensating.  It even has the diagram glued to the inside.  Unfortunately no determinable date from any part in that phone.

All my other AE 80"s and later have center holes.

Maybe that Starlite of yours was made at a plant that was a holdover from one of the Leich facilities.
