I can not get a backboard for reasonable cost, so I have made a drawing, if someone could look at it and comment it. It would be nice, measures is in mm.
I guess it will be easy to drill only the holes you need when mounting.
I have actually never seen a real backboard, but this how I would cut it, rounding off all sharp edges, and painting it black.

Now I have to figure out how to make it with as little tools as possible.

 >:( I'm sure I had posted pictures about how it turned out, but I can't find them here!
I just post pictures now.   :)

The last picture in this post shows the finished product.
White rings for the 2 screws needed to hang it on the wall.  Since I deem it to no risk of trying to rip this off the wall, this is enough!
The red ones indicates the nuts in the board, so I may easily fix the phone with 4 screws.  The nuts is equal to thos used on cower plates for key holes on a simple door lock.
The hook is just to hang it until I can fix it, makes it easy to hang when I use my hands for other things. So is it also with the pin (headless screw) fixed to jus center the phone on the lower left corner.

The procedure is extremely easy, level and fix the board with 2 screws.  Hook the phone on the hook, and enter the lower left corner on the pin. the you do not have to hold the phone, just use your hands to put in and fix the 4 screws.

Thank you, now my phone has a place to be. At the wall where I have my not to tidy desk.  To use it comfortably, I mounted a coiled cord, and a dialgizmo on the ATA line.  The line reverse polarity at answer, and I have to ad a coin to open the transmitter for talking.  (any coin is good, so I'm pretty childish.  The only drawback is at reversal, the dialgizmo dials a 1!  Not a big problem so far.

This is the perfect phone to call say, an angry boss, mouthy teenager, wife, etc on....got to pay up to talk back! would need an armored cord though for sure!

Except that's not the way they worked.
On an incoming call you didn't have to make a deposit.
You just answered the phone.

I do not have to pay on incoming calls, but on outgoing, when party answers. The main difference from real might be a call is a call, and a coin is a coin  :D
