Do I sense a tad of built up frustration?

;)

'Exclusive to Us'
...I made it.

'Extension Telephone'
...ringer not working.

'Original Cables'
...cables need replacing.

'Original Two Tone Phone'
...originally two broken phones.

'One of these sold recently for £1000'
...I'm expecting no less for mine.

'(famous person's) phone'
...we were told that so it's true and worth a lot of money.

'Sold for Parts/Spares'
...nothing will get this working. We've tried.

Well actually a lot of that is dead on true. Unfortunately I've been duped as well. But my biggest thing is when it's obviously not what they say it is, such as an AE 80, calling it a westerns electric phone, telephone.
Not! Or there listing has such bad English they are not selling from the USA, but rather China, or some other places.

Here's a new one which I read recently:

'Unusual raised monogram'
...somebody put a sticker on it.

I think we all know what "used" is, sellers and buyers can agree on that...

Excellent, Good, fair & poor are some of the different "conditions" we might expect to find the "used" items we seek.

Which brings me to...

     "Condition is used"

Used is not a "condition" of a item...Please stop saying that!

I use terms such as 'Good used condition' - is that ok?
If not I'll stop henceforth.  ;D

Realtors are the same if not worse. I looked at a house, part of the description was a "wood floors". When I looked at the house they had ripped up the carpet, so it was the subfloor & it was wood but not what I expected😀 My other favorite is Fixer upper, in other words junk.

The scariest part of this list is, that most of it's true. Can't remember how many times I've seen ads that use these definitions and not just on eBay.

'Totally Original'
...not necessarily from the same manufacturer.

In view of these definitions, we'd better make up our own minds when looking at a phone, but also ask for more interior and exterior close-up photos. As for me I don't buy on ebay or elsewhere than from individuals on 'MARKETPLACE' or people that I am referred to in general.

Some people in the building where I live, know that I collect and repair. So, often they are phones of my neighbors that I put in function for the modern telephone line.

But i thank you for the definitions , it will be useful if I ever buy a phone on Ebay or if I read one of the definitions.  Good day to all .

Much written 'tongue in cheek' (humorously), but always best to do some research and ask questions re any purchase.

I read this today: 'This listing is for a unique French telephone...'

Because there was definitely only one ever made...

...or...

...the seller does not know what unique means...?
