Please fill me in on the history of this phone. I saw one at a local antique store

For what I know, it's a Dictaphone but this kind of phone is unknown from me sorry that's all I know about that ;)

It's part of a dictation system.

I did a little bit of research since posting the message, and yes that's what it is.
I couldn't find this exact version.
I appears it would have been connected to 3 separate machines.

There were a number of dictation products back in those days, and many used parts of Stromberg Carlson, North Electric, and other phones.  One of these is just about useless as a telephone.
