Proper cords for 302 phones?

Hello:

I have two 302 phones coming my way, that would require a complete new set of cords.

One of them is an early pre-war metal body, another a later thermoplastic version.
Question I have - would these phones originally use identical straight black (or brown?) cloth covered cords for both the line and the handset? Or would the later version be typically equipped with a curly cloth covered (or rubber?) handset cord?

Granted, it does not affect functionality, however I just want to be sure that the final look will be closer to being authentic :)

Thank you,
Dmitri

1936-1946 black metal sets had straight brown fabric-jacketed cords.

1941-1951 black plastic sets had straight brown fabric-jacketed cords.

1952 black plastic sets had straight black neoprene jacketed cords.

"Spring" cords were optional, cost something like $1.50 one-time charge

Excellent, thank you! So, it is safe to assume that "spring" cords were not used prior to '52, and even then they were optional?

Optional fabric covered spring cords, coded "H3P" were available by 1940, if not sooner.
Spring cords on black 500s were not standard before the mid-50s.
