Wire Rollers/Mills?

Posting here in tools as it's a tool I'd certainly use adjacent to telephones.  Does anyone here have experience with the process of producing wire at home?  I've been reading up on roller devices for rolling wire out of stock metal, and was curious if anyone has any suggestions, recommendations, or horror stories regarding making wire at home?  Interestingly, most of what I've read has been in the context of jewelry making as apparently the more serious small-scale producers tend to have these tools to produce to-spec pieces of wire for projects.  I'd be largely focused on conventional copper for electrical circuitry.  Thanks for any suggestions, and if this is a bit far afield from direct telephone tools, happy to have this moved to some other more appropriate forum area.
