I bought the body, base plate, and switch from a forum member and haven't done anything to it besides add a dial and handset.  It's a little rough but It has "character" ;) :). I have 48.60 in the entire set. Again I'm using the old camera so excuse the poor quality of the pictures.

Looks good!  What kind of dial is that?

I thought that looked like a #6. A #4 sticks out far enough on a B1; a #6 almost bumps the handset! :D

Its just what I had on hand. I plan to replace it.

I can relate to having to use parts-on-hand until something better arrives. Why is a #6 dial so thick anyway?

I've always wondered that, myself.  Anybody know?

Probably just due to the height of the gear train that is sandwiched  between the two supports for the gears.

That makes perfect sense.  Form following function.

I have a 5H for this set and the paint is baking on as we speak.

The paint turned out amazing.

I need opinions. The dial card ring and fingerwheel are both brass, would you strip and polish the brass or paint them black?

This would have had a #2HA or B, when it came out. But like eveything else, parts were up graded over the years.
