Title: What is a retro green 302?
Post by: TelePlay on February 22, 2012, 08:15:19 PM
I watched this and wondered what was going on with this phone?

Was that green paint over black or was the black wearing off showing green bakelite underneath? Or something else?

I do not believe there ever was green bakelite. In looking at one of the closeups of the handset it looks pretty clear the green paint is flaking off.
Those "instructions for wiring the phone are about as clear as mud ???
I hope the winner instructs the seller not to ship it as pictured in the original box, with the handset sitting like that there is sure to be damage!

I agree.  That looks like a backyard paint job that's mercifully being rejected by the phone.

Also seems like an awful high price for a nasty 302 that is also cracked!
