Title: 685A Subset
Post by: rtp129495 on December 29, 2017, 04:12:20 PM
Hello All,

I was wondering what phones work with 685A subsets, 202 and candlesticks? Is there more that use them?

Typical use for Western Electric 200 series payphones.

Any subset should be able to work with any phone that only contains a switchhook, transmitter/receiver, and/or dial. It would most likely work with a 500 with the switchhook and dial as the only operating components in the phone.

Getting down to realistic uses, both WE Spacesavers (C1 and G1) would work, as well as the AA1, which was a 302 designed to work off an existing subset, lacking the components a subset contained. There's also the A1, B1, etc.
