That is pretty Cool. I wonder where the subset is supposed to go?

My guess is a baseboard mounted subset and long line cord.

The only thing Mrs. Google could find on the "Holdafone", is this short article about the inventor, Mr. Eric Hirsch, who appears to have been a graduate of Cornell University.    The article is in Cornel Alumni News, dated April 1957.   It's attached in "jpeg".    Click to enlarge.

US Patent 2,067,323 was applied for in 1935. The date + the accompanying line drawing suggest a D1 202.

Wouldn't be something I would bid on as the seller is a zero. If you look at the bidder, they are also a zero. Coincidence?

Things that make you go hmmm.

It actually had 4 bids from 2 bidders. One of them is a big phone buyer. Sold for $300.00??

The holdaphone apparently sold once for $300 in the completed auction listing, and now the same one appears to be listed again for $300.  Additionally, there was  a cobbled dial stick that sold for $150, and now it has relisted at $225 with the same listing photos.

Something  unusual going on, perhaps?
