I have seen these WE Handset cords in the past, part straight part curly. I cannot remember the part number, but I thought they came out of the base straight not the handset. Date Match 2 22 47 302....thanks...Doug

Maybe someone reversed the handset cord. If you look at the second photo, it appears the cord had at one time something sitting on it, maybe the phone itself.
Also check the wire colors, it may be a AE cord.
