Televerket was the public utility company responsible for telecommunications in Sweden between 1953-1993; however, it originated 100 years earlier. Swedish Kongl. Elektriska Telegraf-Werket (literally: Royal Electric Telegraph Agency) was founded in 1853. Its name changed to Kongl. Telegrafverket in 1871, Kungl. Telegrafverket in 1903, the Kungliga (Royal) was dropped in 1946 and the name was further modernised to Televerket in 1953. The company continued as a government agency until corporatisation in 1992-1993. WIKI

I have a Challenger Answercall, must be 80's "the most advanced answering machine available" it claims, big black plastic 2 cassette job with aluminuim dash and lots of lovely rubber buttons.

And this Pana unit:

Silver plastic 2 cass unit, fake wooden base detail, aluminium dash again, but with two rotary switch selectors, previous owners had managed to lose the remotes - DOHHHHH!  >:(

Two cassettes? That's awesome! People won't have to wait for the tape to fast-forward after the announcement to leave their message!

I myself have (and use!) a Lucent Technologies answering machine that I've had since 1997! Uses one microcassette.
