Interesting, but I have a feeling it's not a genuine "antique".  The legs, cradle, handset and finger wheel look like cheap plastic.

Not terribly old, but certainly interesting.  You see various onyx configurations show up on ebay, they're all neat in their own way.  I don't know where they come from.

The few onyx phones that I've seen on Ebay have cube shaped bodies, almost like an Italian monument. Rather large, heavy and awkward looking IMO. They often have gold plated dials but cheap metal parts. As far as I know they were from Italy in the 1970s, I'm guessing for the tourist trade. They don't bring high prices from what I've seen.
