Title: What is that handset?
Post by: Nick in Manitou on December 08, 2012, 07:17:38 PM
www.ebay.com/itm/251192002809  (came back and added the "www." to make the link work!)

Is it just the angle of the photo, or is that a non-WE handset?

Certainly not Western.  I am not an expert on handsets, but perhaps North, Stromberg Carlson or Leich.  Kind of blows a hole in the seller's assertion that it is an all original, but the seller may not be knowlegeable about handsets.

That being said, it is electrically equivalent, and will work.

More importantly, why is it $222 and counting?

OMG I was just going to post the same question!  Why is it up to $222.00?  Are we missing something?

Sure.  You are missing the customized ringer clapper adjustment (bent).  That alone must be worth $200.00

The link is missing the " http://www. " in front of the " ebay.com/itm/251192002809 " . . . .

Is that handset seamless?

final price $275.  Pretty incredible.  There must be something about this phone that I'm not seeing to drive the price up that high.

Seller must be very happy right now.  Probably picked the phone up at a flea market for $10 and threw it on Ebay hoping for a quick $10 profit.  His Christmas came a little early.  You gotta love it.
