Built in 1942. Bought on EBay years ago. The seller did not show the missing chunk in the back. I had to repair this with Black Max and a suitable filler material.
Do not know if I put the cords in the right place.Dial is interlocked and will not turn unless the handset is removed from the cradle. Based on the German w28 design

That's weird, the handset cradle dial interlock.  I know in the early days when dials just were being introduced, people had to be trained to pickup the receiver FIRST and THEN dial.  This would seem to counteract the desire to start dialing before you were off the hook.  You still have to "listen for dialtone first" though...
