It's a wrap! The best of the best finds of the year has been crowned.

Congratulations to MagicMo for winning the Find of the Year "Grand Champion" poll with 53% of the votes cast in the Best of the Best poll. Her find got 10 votes, the 2 next closest entries received 5 votes each.

Her find, back in 2012, was a complete 1964 WE Model 1 Picturephone that her father, a Bell worker for some 40 years in the Chicago area, had managed to put away in his attic. "Complete" means the phone, its attachments and parts, all the manuals and the wooden cases in which the phone and everything else were shipped.

You can read the phone's story on the Forum here

http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=7975.0

The phone was purchased by the JKL Museum in California in an eBay auction for $21,433.67 in January of 2013

http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=8649.0

and was saved from the Butte Fire California had in September 2015. This museum post was dated a couple of months before the fire:

It was a great, one in anyone's lifetime find and by being crowned the "Grand Champion," MagicMo gets lifetime bragging rights to this achievement and a brand new, virtual "Grand Champion" Trophy.

Well done, Maureen!

Congratulations Magic Mo!  I remember when this came out!  I was in 4th grade.  I thought it was weird!  Amazing that your Dad was able to get it, because the ones that came out for subscribers were different.  Not many people wanted it, as they thought it was just too expensive and that it was weird.  That makes it all the more desirable today.
